Nokia E90 vs Nokia N810

AllAboutSymbian.com has published a short but interesting head-to-head comparison of Nokia E90 and Nokia N810. While there are many similarities between those two devices (huge screens, QWERTY keyboards, GPS navigation), they are quite different.

The main difference is how and who uses E90 and N810. Read more here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/item/Nokia_E90_vs_Nokia_810_Part_1-Hardware__Communications.php

Leaked Nokia E90 Successor?

Symbian-Freak is claiming that a user NokiaN95-1 of the Telefon-Treff forum has managed to get photos of the upcoming E90.

I am not sure if this is just a rumour or if there are any real photos of the Communicator's successor and more importantly if there already is a real working version of the new device.

Well, E90 is an almost perfect device. Yes, true it has many problems but those problems are of more technical nature. Most of the problems are associated with factory defects like the mic and speaker problem and keyboard failure. Otherwise, the device is almost fully featured.

What I can wish for the successor is to have even higher resolution of the internal screen. Well, I would not mind a 1024x400 or 1024x600 resolution. Also, making the internal screen touch-sensitive would be great. Finally, throwing in about 8 GB of memory would be nice. And of course eliminating all of the technical and factory defects.

A Really Dumb Review of Nokia E90

There are dozens of Nokia E90 reviews on the Internet. Some provide more details, some less. There a couple of extremely comprehensive and deep ones.

E90 isn't the newest and latest device, yet new reviews appear from time to time.

Today I came across one "interesting" review. Well, you can hardly call this a review.

If you are a proud owner of E90, have your say and leave your comment: http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/01/review-nokia-e9.html?cid=98335080

Sony Ericsson P1i vs. Nokia E90 Communicator

Today I came across an interesting question on CNET Asia. Sachet Batra is asking which device is better for business and Internet use: SE P1 or Nokia E90 Communicator.

I had owned many different smartphones and among them were Symbian OS based and Windows Mobile based devices. However, I have finally come to E90 and I don't think to change this device anywhere soon.

When choosing a smartphone, the most important moment is to evaluate what you want it for. Windows Mobile devices are really cool and I really love them but when it comes to web browsing the lack of the screen size is a big limitation. The best screen you can find for WinMob devices is a VGA screen, which is of course better than a QVGA screen but still not enough for comfortable browsing.

What I love about E90 is the resolution of the internal screen. Finally, this is a device that almost replaces a laptop for browsing. After I bought E90, I noticed that I carry my laptop less frequently. Sometimes I would take my laptop only for browsing or writing a blog post. Many blog posts I have written on E90 and for browsing it is the best device. Period.

While Communicator's ergonomics is great to operate the device sans touchscreen, the presence of the later would a tremendous plus.

I've never owned P1, but recently I bought it as a birthday gift for Nick, who is a big fan of SonyEricsson, and I think P1 is a really cool device. Had not I been able to buy E90, I would purchase P1 for sure. Again, on my list P1 is the second device.

Returning to the question posted on CNET. Damian Koh, a Senior Writer, has posted a very correct and useful answer. I highly recommend you to read it if you are still evaluating which device to buy: P1 or E90. Fake E90 Looks Pretty Decent, But...

It's no more secret that Chinese like to clone every and each handset. A while ago great cloners tried their cloning force at faking Nokia E90 Communicator.

It must be admitted that the clone looks pretty decent, especially outside where it almost fully resembles the original device. However, as we move inside, things start to be different. Totally different keyboard, smaller screen, big stereo speakers speak loudly that the cloned device is very far from the original.

The cloned device is equipped with a 1.3 MP camera, had quad-band radio with EDGE and microSD expansion slot.

The pre-installed software has some office document support and more interestingly has Nintendo emulator. Well, I think inclusion of the later was pretty wise since once you open the device, it does look like a gaming device, pretty close to Nintendo DS + QWERTY keyboard.

It must be admitted that the real device is nicer than it looks on the photos. The price of the device is about US $300. So, it makes a pretty good alternative for wanna-be E90 owners.

Yet Another Review of Nokia E90 Communicator

Today I came across a new review of Nokia E90 Communicator on the FOXNews.com web site. The device is reviewed by Jamie Lendino of PCMAG. I'm not sure if the original review is new or old, however, if you are about to buy E90, you may find it interesting to read one more review.
