Nokia has announced a new version of the Mail for Exchange mobile email client for Nokia E-series and selected Nokia N-series devices.
The new Mail for Exchange client improves user experience. The software offers access to popular Microsoft Exchange Server features, such as meeting request handling and directory look-up, on a mobile device.
With a release of Mail for Exchange 2.0, Nokia has once again proved supremacy of E-series as the number one device for business professionals.
The client is available immediately via the Download! feature free of charge. Customers with compatible devices can download the application from the Nokia website as well.

Nokia PC Suite is a really cool software, which makes PC and Nokia phone synchronization a hassle-free operation. However, there is one feature that was missing in the previous editions of the software and it is file synchronization.
Windows Mobile users have always had this function through ActiveSync. With the release of Nokia PC Suite 6.84.10, file synchronization has become available for Nokia users as well.
To enable file synchronization, open the Synchronization Utility Settings. In the first tab named General there is a section named "What to Synchronize". Mark the "File and Folder Items" shown in read circle in the screen shot below.

Then you can switch to the "Filed and Folders" tab to further customize how files and folders are synchronized.

Namely, you can specify which folder is synchronized with the phone. By default that folder is My Documents\Briefcase. The settings allow you specify where to save files on the phone (internal or external memory). Finally, you can specify maximum size of the files that are synchronized with the phone. In other words, if you enable this option, only files which are smaller than the size that you specify, will be synchronized.

When I first heard about WidSets, I must admit I could not understand what it was. From a short description that I read, I understood that WidSets was an application that would deliver web content to a Java-enabled mobile phone.
Sounds pretty nice but not too exciting. However, within a minute after I had installed the WidSets client on my Nokia E90, I felt why it was difficult to understand what WidSets was about. Simply, you cannot imagine an existance of such an innovative and powerful application for a mobile phone.
Again, it is quite difficult to see the full potential of WidSets until you actually use the application. To put simply, WidSets gives you access to many web communities, web applications and a lot of content and all this is delivered right on your mobile phone. Email, RSS, different games, Twitter, weather forecasts, currency exchange and stock tickers and many other applications exist as Widgets for WidSets. While you may have some of that functionality in stand alone applications (e.g. email client, RSS reader) on high end smartphones, unique thing about WidSets is that you access all these functions in a single application.
The WidSets client application does not do much itself. It hosts different Widgets, which deliver almost inexhaustible functionality. Installing new Widgets is a breeze. In 10 seconds I updated my status on Twitter, checked local weather, read news headlines, checked e-mail and played Sudoku.
Experience on E90's large internal screen was absolutely fantastic. However, as long as the application is developed in Java, it works with a wide range of devices.
Now it's time to stop reading this post and get to action. Download WidSets client and get ready for the rock n' roll.

Nokia has recently released 6.84 version of the Nokia PC Suite. The software is pretty much the same except it now supports file synchronization. I had have this function on Windows Mobile and ActiveSync and had been terribly missing it on Nokia E90. However, with Nokia PC Suite 6.84 this gap has been filled.
Well, downloading the Nokia PC Suite installation package is a snap. However, installing it may be accompanied with minor difficulties. Soon after you start the installation process, you may encounter something displayed on the screen-shot on the left. If that is the case, simply, keep on reading.
Unfortunately, many users have experienced the same problem. Googling does not give much effect. Most of the "solutions" mention to use the Nokia PC Suite cleaner tool. I used it and it did not work. Neither did I get any effect from the Installer Cleanup tool from Microsoft.
The problem is that PC Suite is not able to uninstall the old connectivity cable driver. Because of this, the whole installation process fails.
The solution that I am describing is 100% workable, guaranteed and it is extremely easy to do. So, let's start. Simply, follow the instructions below and let the magic happen :). I assume that you have already downloaded the installation package.
1. Run the PC Suite Installation package (Nokia_PC_Suite_6_84_10_3_eng_web.exe)
2. In Windows start the search utility (Start Menu -> Search)
3. Choose "All Files and Folders"
4. Enter the following "PCCS.msi" in the first text box and enter "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Installations" in the Look in text box.
5. Run the PCCS.msi installation file.
6. Go one folder up and you should see the following folders:
CommonCustomActions
Nokia PC Suite
Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver
PCCS
7. Go to the "Nokia PC Suite folder" and run the Nokia PC Suite.msi file.
It is assumed that you have installed Windows on driver C and the system folders have default names. Generally, the path where you should find the installation files should be "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Installations". If it is different on your system, then try searching all logic drives.

Have you noticed that with the arrival of the Internet it has become easier to make purchasing decisions? When it comes to buying expensive stuff, making wrong decisions ain't no good. Prior to buying different gadgets, I spend a couple of hours making a research, reading different reviews and most importantly comments from end users.
Nokia E90 communicator is a new product and many people are at a stage of making a purchasing decision. To spend you your precious time, I have compiled a list of the very best reviews of the device.
All of the reviews are quite comprehensive and close to reality, however My-Symbian.com's is the best. So, if you plan to read only one of them, then I recommend reading the one from My-Symbian.com.
So, here we go:

A whole week has passed since I got my Nokia E90 communicator. I have been waiting for this device from the very announcement moment. As an opening post of the Nokia E90 blog, I thought I'd share my experience with the device. Hopefully, I will give you good idea to those who are still considering to buy E90. As I'm a total beginner with E90 (though I had have Nokia 9300i for 10 months), so there is a pretty chance that I have not discovered many functions of the device. Therefore, in this post I will speak about what I have already faced. So, let's start.
Why It Was Love At First Sight
1. Nokia E90 is based on the S60 system. This is a huge improvement. To be short, almost all applications developed for S60 devices shall work on E90, at least in theory. A while ago I had Nokia E61 and had purchased a couple of good commercial programs. I'm glad that I can use those programs with my E90.
2. The internal display is simply gorgeous. Well, I don't think you can describe it with words. You cannot imagine how perfect it is until you actually use it. Web browsing experience is almost the same as that on a laptop. The internal display is crystal crisp. Simply incredible.
3. The external display is very nice as well. 240x320 screen resolution. Pretty standard for S60 devices and most modern phones. And sure this means that many applications will work without any screen adaptation at all.
4. In terms of functionality, the external display gives you full access to the device. Unlike previous models, on E90 there is no difference whether you have the device open or closed. Well, the only difference is the screen resolution. So, most of the time you can have your E90 closed. Only when I need a "heavy artillery" do I open the device.
5. The internal keyboard is backlit. Well, those who had old communicators will quickly understand the importance of this improvement. In the dark it was almost impossible to use the old models unless you held the device half open so that the internal screen would lit the keyboard. When you had the device fully open, it was impossible to type anything. The backlight on E90 is not very bright but more than acceptable.
6. Overall speed of the device. As I am sure you are aware, the device has a 330 Mhz monster inside. This is more than enough to make the device more responsive than a Windows Mobile device running on a 520 Mhz CPU. Sorry Bill but Winmob is not a good performer here. My Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox 730 is a creep in comparison to Nokia E90 in terms of speed.
7. Design of the gadget. To be completely honest, when I first saw the photos of E90 I did not like it and my first reaction was wtf... but the device is really beautiful. Don't get me wrong, but it is the most serious looking device I have ever held in my hand.
8. Connect to anything and everything. Well, in terms of connectivity, Nokia E90 is champion. Nobody can show me a device with more connectivity capabilities. From FM radio to GPS radio everything is present in E90. Simply amazing. Event Agent 007 would be amazed by E90 connectivity features.
9. 3.2 Megapixel camera and another camera for 3G video conference calls. Well, the camera is very good. Probably only N95 has a better camera at the moment.
10. Good battery power. Considering all the features that the device has, battery lasts quite well. I'm confident the previous communicators' battery lasted more, but you know how much power 3G consumes. So, I can say only positive about the battery power.
11. Excellent GPS capabilities. The maps are built in. GPS works perfectly.
What I Did Not Like
1. The quality of the keyboard. I would not say that it is bad but tactile quality of Nokia 9300i communicator was slightly better. I might be subjective here, but to me it was easier to type on Nokia 9300i. I will adjust this comment if I experience the same comfort after a couple of more days. To be honest I have not done a finger-killer typing on E90 so far.
2. No USB charging. I would really love to be able to charge E90 via laptop. The Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox supported USB charging and this was really nice feature that I am missing.
3. Communicator without internal fax support? Yes, yes I know that fax is pretty outdated technology. But in the business world it is still widely used. As a matter of fact, many contracts that my company signs are done thru fax. Once my Nokia 9300i really helped with this when our fax machine broke down and I had an extremely important fax to send. No joking. Sent and received important fax on Nokia 9300i. Otherwise, I don't regret not having fax onboard. Can live without it.
4. The cursor button on the internal keyboard. This really annoys me. Instead of arrows sometimes I accidentally press the button. While my fingers are not large from time to time this causes me discomfort. Can imagine how much trouble will experience people with large fingers. Anyhow, I hope to get accustomed to this.
Overall Experience So Far
I don't see any other gadget on the horizon that can replace Nokia E90. I have used almost every interesting (from a business and IT perspectives) device and Nokia E90 is the only one that completely fulfils my needs. Nokia E90 is the most successful all-in one device.
Stay tuned and check us out frequently. I will post many interesting and exciting information about Nokia E90.
